We’re beyond excited to introduce you to our newest Featured Friend of the Month! He goes by many names: Stompy, Lompy, Lompogus, Stompdog or, more simply, Bubbs. To us, however, he’s our one and only Stomper! Stomper has been a part of the Roscoe’s family since February of 2017 and he’s been romping and stomping his way into our hearts ever since! Stomper is 5 and half years old and although he looks like a handsome hound, according to his DNA test, he’s mostly English Springer Spaniel and American Staffordshire Terrier. According to his parents, however, he’s 100% Stompalomagus! We can’t wait to tell you all about our special guy.
Stomper and his family first met at the Animal Welfare Society in West Kennebunk. His parents had originally gone to visit some cute puppies they had seen online, but things changed when they met a black and white little spaniel mix named Stomper. According to his mom, “it was love at first sight of course. Time went into slow motion and I was pulled in by his tractor beam!” They adopted Stomper that day and he took no time making himself feel comfortable at home with their two cats. He was ready to start his new life with his forever family and the rest, as they say, is history!
Nowadays, Stomper is an active and engaged dog who spends his free time walking, running, jumping, snuggling, and everything in-between! Stomper is a true athlete who excels in agility, conditioning and tricks. Indeed, Stomper demands attention and loves when all eyes are on him! It’s a good thing Stomper lives in Maine as well, because he puts all of his athletic energy into chasing seagulls on the beach, digging in the snow, and hiking all of the many forested trails. This dog has a go! go! go! personality! Of course, everyone needs a break once and a while, and Stomper likes to spend his snuggling with his parents. He also likes to cuddle with his favorite toy in the whole world, a giant stuffed sloth! Stomper also loves to get pampered and might be one of the only dogs who looks forward to bath time. He’s a true superstar through and through!
Of course, Stomper always makes time for his friends here at Roscoe’s and we’re always so grateful to have him! Stomper loves all his human pals and the first thing we see when he walks through our doors is his big, toothy grin. He’s usually wagging his tail hip-to-hip and we make sure to make him feel extra special. He’s one of our own, hometown celebrities! Once he’s out back with his canine companions, Stomper can usually be found in the medium energy group where he can still play and have some fun, but rest up for a bit if need be. He’s usually always right in tow with the playgroup supervisor asking for cookies and snuggles. And when it’s time to go outside, he’s the first one up the ramp, ready to show off his amazing athleticism. We just can’t get enough of Stomper!
